The Phoenix Outreach Program (POP) provides life changing support and mentorship to the at-risk youth of Maine. At POP, we strive to support young adults and empower them to break the chains of recidivism. Via our established mentorship training program, mentors are trained and equipped to support their mentees through life’s challenges. By building lasting, trusting relationships, POP trained mentors come alongside their mentee, their mentee’s family, the community and support programs to help their mentee achieve his or her goals such as housing, school, career, life skills, and more.
Our primary goal is to provide one mentor to every incarcerated youth in Maine but our support doesn’t end there. Our mentors support young adults through incarceration AND after reentering the community. One of the most critical times in these young adults’ lives is the re-entry process and it is our goal through planning, preparation and community support to make the transition as easy and successful as possible.
These young adults don’t only need a friend, but also support, guidance and stability. And that is exactly what our mentors provide.
Every little bit of support goes towards creating a better future for our mentees. If you are interested in becoming a mentor or in giving a donation, contact us today.
